Nuno Líbano Monteiro
Joined PLMJ in 1987.
Senior partner in the Dispute Resolution practice.
About Nuno
Nuno is a senior partner in the Dispute Resolution practice and has more than 35 years' experience. He has worked on numerous legally complex and economically significant cases in commercial and financial matters and has particular experience in the areas of directors' liability and the automotive industry. In recent years, he has acted for multinational companies and directors in class actions.
In the area of restructuring and insolvency, Nuno has been involved in the most complex cross-border insolvency proceedings, representing the main parties involved.
As a representative of the Portuguese Bar Association, Nuno contributed to the drafting of the Portuguese Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Code and has played an active role in judicial matters throughout his career.
He is chairman of the board of the Circle of Litigation Lawyers and a member of Insol Europe, Insol International, the International Bar Association, and the Portuguese Insolvency Law Association (APDIR). Nuno has also written legal articles and spoken and lectured at seminars and postgraduate courses on civil procedure and restructuring and insolvency.
